About ThoughtsOnTheGoodLife.com

Hello & Welcome to Thoughts On The Good Life!

Thank you for stopping by my blog. My name is Sarah Craig, and I hope you enjoy and benefit from what you find here!

Why I’m Blogging about Personal Development

I want to live the good life, and I already do. But living well is a lifelong pursuit. There are more lessons to learn, people to connect with, worthy challenges to tackle, and days of my life to enjoy. I want to make the most of the rest of my personal and professional life. I want to be successful. I want my goals to come to fruition. I want surprisingly wonderful things to come into my life that I can’t even imagine yet. I want the same for the people I love and for every person in the world. Hopefully I’ll enrich your life by sharing my journey. It’s a paradox: life is tough, but life is good too. Sometimes life is absolutely wonderful. What you focus on flourishes; so with that in mind, exploring the good life seems like a fabulous idea.

What to Expect

1. 30-Day Personal Challenges:

I want to put my ideas into action. I love to think and write about happiness and success, and sometimes that’s enough. But in most cases, living those ideals is the real goal. Trial periods of 30 days – or sometimes 7, 31, 365, or another duration – will help keep me accountable, practical, and motivated. I’ll blog when I begin and end these personal challenges. You can join me in these challenges, or design your own.

2. My Thoughts on The Good Life:

I have many philosophies of my own on how to live well. This blog gives me an opportunity to examine my own theories, develop them further, and have the experience of writing about my ideas. I believe the written word is powerful. I want to deeply consider my best thoughts on living a quality life, remember my insights, and clearly and concisely articulate them. I don’t have it all figured out; I don’t think it’s even possible to have it all figured out. Also, a fulfilling life looks different for every person. But the good life is worth some thought. I’m interested in hearing your thoughts, starting conversations, and learning from you as well.

3. Personal Development Book Recommendations:

I’ve read many excellent books by other people who’ve given serious thought to the good life. I’ve come across insights that are pure gold. I want to extract the best nuggets of wisdom from these books and share them with you. I also want to simplify and catalog these valuable ideas for my future reference.

Monthly Blog Schedule:

  • 1st Monday: Personal Challenge Begins
  • 2nd Monday: Book Recommendation
  • 3rd Monday: My Thoughts on the Good Life
  • 4th Monday: Topic Varies
  • Last Monday: Personal Challenge Wrap-Up

Commitment to Using Best Judgement

This blog is about my personal journey seeking, scrutinizing, and living the good life. I’ll sometimes reference the ideas of authors, bloggers, and other people who’ve publicly shared their ideas. I fully intend to respect the privacy of everyone else: friends, family, and colleagues. I won’t use names, stories, or examples from other people’s lives without permission from them. This blog will focus on my own thoughts, life, and personal development path. This isn’t an advice blog. I’m not an expert, a doctor, or a life coach. I’m just an inquisitive, highly-motivated person who wants to discover the practicalities of living well and share the wealth. I encourage you to make up your own mind about things, as only you know what is best for you.

About Me: Sarah Craig

I’m a 30-something woman who lives near Portland, Oregon. I’m happily married to a wonderful man. I’m the mother of an adorable toddler son. My life is full of amazing family and friends, interesting and rewarding work in medical sales, lucky and hard-won circumstances, as well as my fair share of flaws and challenges. My most important personal goal is to live a good life and help others do the same.

A Little More About This Blog

ThoughtsOnTheGoodLife.com is my place to explore and share my thoughts on living the good life. I have wanted to start this hobby blog for a long time. I have always been a writer, and my bachelor’s degree is in journalism. I’ve written for school, jobs, and television news. Now with this blog, I get to write for myself, on the topics that mean the most to me. I have a hunch that positive things will come from this blog, and it’ll energize me, inspire me, and be a part of my full actualization as a human being. I hope what I share here will brighten up your life and inspire you to make all of your wildest dreams come true.
