My All-Time Favorite Quotes

My All-Time Favorite Quotes

This week I’ll share with you my six all-time favorite quotes.

But first, let me say, life lately has been very good, but extremely busy for me. The holiday window painting book I’m writing is even more work than I expected. My full-time medical sales job is demanding. My darling 2.5-year-old son keeps me on my toes too. I love it all tremendously. But time is finite. For that reason, my forthcoming Monday blog posts, including this one, will be short and sweet.

With that being said, here are six outstanding quotes I know by heart and carry around with me always. They’re always bouncing around in the back of my mind, nudging me in the right direction. I’ll share the quotes here, and let them stand for themselves, without additional comment:

“The best way to predict your future is to create it.”

– Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United States

“The best insurance for a satisfactory future is to handle the present moment well.”

-John A. Schindler, M.D., author of the book “How to Live 365 Days a Year”

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”

-Theodore Roosevelt, 26th president of the United States

“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.”

-Stephen King, best-selling fiction author

“The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive. The great opportunity is where you are.”

-John Burroughs, American naturalist and nature essayist

“We become what we think about most of the time, and that’s the strangest secret.”

-Earl Nightingale, American radio speaker and author

Those quotes are pure gold to me. I hope they spark something positive in you too. What is one of your all-time favorite quotes? Feel free to comment. Until next week, all the best to you my friends.

UPDATE 3/4/2019:

I just have to add this 7th quote that echoes my belief in a friendly universe:

“The whole world is conspiring to shower you with blessings.”

-Rob Brezsny, author of the book “Pronoia: is the Antidote for Paranoia”
